A small company based in the quiet village of Matfield on the edge of the beautiful Weald of Kent, Raster Vision was set up by Richard and Jacky Leman in 1992 to develop leading edge digital video systems.
While the reins have recently been passed down to their son, Mark Leman, and his fellow Directors Andy Bucknell and Peter Smith, Richard and Jacky and the products they developed are still an integral part of the business.
Raster Vision maintains the personal, friendly service ethos of a family run firm but has successfully expanded to undertake a wide range of products across many different industries.
Mark Leman - Technical Director
Mark Leman joined Raster Vision Ltd in 1992 as a development engineer and has worked his way up the ranks to become Technical Director. He is also responsible for managing the company's network infrastructure.
Mark showed an enthusiasm for electronics from an early age. While still at school (some time ago!) he built his own single board computer including the hardware and PCB design and writing the operating system, diagnostic and serial communications software. In 1998 he won the Engineering Council "Young Engineer for Britain" award by demonstrating his computer and showing it controlling a simple robot.
When not at a computer, Mark is a keen swimmer and SCUBA diver and has a number of life saving, boat handling and diving qualifications.
Peter Smith - Operations Director
After joining the company in 1989 straight from technical college, Peter worked his way up through various departments to become the senior PCB designer overseeing the layout and production of all hardware produced. Now as a Director, Peter closely monitors these functions to make sure the company stays up-to date with the latest technology and tools.
In his spare time Peter maintains his kit car and spends far too much time fishing, a hobby for which he once held the county record for a 44lb carp when the number of 40lb carp in the country could be counted on two hands.
Andy Bucknell - Production Manager & Quality Director 
Andy is a relative newcomer to Raster Vision but has over 25 years of experience within the electronic manufacturing industry. As Production Manager & Quality Director he is responsible for implementing and maintaining our ISO 9001 accreditation and our Quality Management Systems. He is passionate about providing a quality service and exceeding our customers' expectations every time.
At the weekends he can be found up to his knees in mud playing an active role in the Southern Rover Owners Club. He also likes to build and maintain his own Land Rovers. More recently he has taken to keeping fit with swing dance and Lindy Hop.
Ria Leman - Financial Controller
Ria works in the office as Financial Controller and is also in charge of procurement. She is a qualified AAT Accounting Technician.
Ria came to England from Belgium in 1996 for 3 months' work experience - and 14 years later is still here. Now married to Mark, the Technical Director, and with two young children she has put her scuba diving on hold and recently took to the ski slopes for the first time with her family instead. She says it was a great experience but she's not quite ready for her first black run yet. On a less dangerous note she is learning to play the guitar and is proud to have mastered a refrain from Snow Patrol.
